It has come to the Board, Match Committee and Management attention, that member times for recent and upcoming competitions have more than usual guests, limiting the available times for members.  All of the guests in this Saturday’s competition have been invited by a member, which is a privilege we would like to maintain for our members.  After considerable thought, we have decided to implement measures to free up more times and give members the priority they deserve in Wednesday and Saturday competitions.

  1. The time intervals on Wednesdays and Saturdays will be adjusted to increase our field from 120 players to 138 players.  From 7am to 9am, the intervals will be 8 minutes, followed by 10 minute intervals between 9am to 11am, and back to 8 minute intervals between 11am to 12pm.  The reason we require 10 minute intervals between 9am and 11am, is to allow the carts to return from the morning groups and be ready for the afternoon field.
  2. Members are limited (in accordance with the Club’s by-laws) to 4 guests in competition times.  If a member wishes to invite more than 4 guests, they will need to request the permission of the match committee.
  3. Wednesday and Saturday competitions are members and invited guests only.
  4. Hotel guests with golflink numbers are eligible for Wednesday and Saturday Competitions between 12pm -12:30pm.  Hotel guests may request an earlier time, but can only be given the times not booked by members, and only 48 hours before the day.
  5. Killara members who are invited to play Magenta during their course renovations will be restricted and limited to an allocated time on competition days.
  6. Any request outside of the above conditions may be approved subject to the match committee’s approval.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind members that they have access to the timesheets a month in advance, and we encourage you to utilise this opportunity to secure your preferred time.  In the rare circumstance you cannot get a suitable tee time, the MiClub booking system has a fantastic waiting list built into the program.  You are able to put your name on the waiting list and specify your preferred time.  If there are any pullouts, the system will automatically book you in the time and notify you by email.

Although most members are very considerate in removing themselves from the timesheet when they cannot play, we would like to emphasise that members remove their name form the timesheet at least 24 hours prior, unless circumstances arise where this notice cannot be provided.  At a minimum, please alert the pro-shop if you are unable to play on the day.

As a Club, we are committed to optimising the experience of our members, and as we grow and evolve, we will adapt where appropriate, to make sure we are delivering in the best interest of our members.

Warm Regards

Rob Hurley
